This is the best area to hunt as it has the best bush cover and the highest nutrition between the grain feilds and the forest. This area is referred to as the fringe area surrounding the Porcupine Provincial Forest. We are one of the furthest south outfitters in the province. Because we have farmland permits we are one of the 5% of the outfitters that can hunt deer in grain fields and alfalfa fields. All locations are 5 to 30 minutes from camp. Our guides are all local residents who are extremely familiar with this area. We take a maximum of 6 hunters per week in November. We also have an early season in October for muzzleloader hunters. Due to a harsh winter in 2007 we decided not to hunt our camp in 2008 or 2009, instead we were feeding and taking pictures so we can have some real trophies for 2010. We thought it best to let the deer grow for 2 more years before hunting this area again. I appreciate all my clients understanding that we need to give these 140-150 class deer a couple of years to grow so we can get quality bucks back.
