SASKATCHEWAN WHITETAIL DEER HUNTING

Neil,
Thanks for the 2007 hunt Baron & I took nice bucks in Alberta
and Saskatchewan. In the whitetail hunting world booking a hunt
can be a difficult decision. We look forward to many more years with
North Star . I can honestly say that I feel comfortable spending the
money, because I know the quality hunt you provide .Your Saskatchewan
hunt is superb, very relaxing with a great oppertunity at a trophy
class whitetail . Erv does a very nice job in Sask camp . Your Alberta
operation is great too . I couldn't pick between the two that's why
I hunt both . We are returning to hunt both places in 08 so anyone
wanting info on these hunts you can call me in the evenings at 717-235-0411
.

I wanted to thank you and your staff for the hospitality and the
Five Star Service afforded me on my Saskatchewan Whitetail
Hunt. Ive been on other outfitter hunts in Quebec, Ontario
and Colorado, but this was, by far, the best outfitter hunt I have
ever been on.
I never thought that the Dream
Hunt raffle ticket I got from the Deerassic Classic Giveaway
in Ohio USA last August would ever be a winner, but it was. I won
the Saskatchewan Whitetail Hunt, including airfare, with North Star
Outfitting and was overjoyed. Chris at Deerassic Park was a tremendous
help in setting up this hunt and should be commended.
Im used to doing everything
for myself and was quite surprised to be driven to my stand on ATV
and handed my gear up into the Sportsmans Condo Blind one
piece at a time and received the same treatment on pickup at days
end. Even though the blinds have good heaters, its nice not
to have to walk a long distance to get to the blind and get all
sweaty and then freeze.
If a hunter were short one item
needed for hunting or relaxing afterwards, the guide would provide
his own personal loaner or pick it up for you when he was in town.
It didnt matter if it was clothing, hand warmers, or refreshments.
The guides really work hard
to insure you a quality hunt that youll remember for a long
time. One could quickly tell that your guides were very well experienced
and put their heart into everything they did. They went the extra
mile all day long. The food was almost gourmet with fancy breakfasts,
five and six course meals every night, and fresh baked goodies daily.
The accommodations were very good and left you wanting for nothing.
And Satellite TV too, youre spoiling us!
Ive never seen guides
so accommodating and so eager to help set you up in the right circumstances
so that you will be successful at getting a trophy deer. They acted
as if they were the one going out hunting for the day and put every
effort into making sure you were going to get what you came for.
The radio check-ins at noon assured your safety (and comfort) and
I looked forward to hearing details about what deer other hunters
were seeing at that time. The great meals, accommodations and fresh
bait put down every day show you spare no expense to insure a quality
hunt.
It was my first Canadian Whitetail
Hunt and I was successful in harvesting a beautiful 155 inch Whitetail
on my second day of a six-day hunt. I remember radioing my guide
and exclaiming, I do believe Im Shot Out, It all happened
so fast. I never expected to bag a buck like that on the second
day of a six-day hunt!
I saw so many deer in just two
days it astonished me. It seemed like Saskatchewan was an 8 point
factory. Back in New York youd have to be asleep on the stand
to pass up several good 8 points like I did in your camp. I watched
deer go up on their hind legs boxing and fighting over the right
to feed, I saw bucks trailing does, nose to the ground, and several
times I watched different deer families vying for feeding rights
at the same bait station and was amused at the does displays
of dominance. At one point I was virtually surrounded by deer, with
two 8 points and 9 does seen all at once, some at bait stations
and others scattered all around me. One of the other hunters at
a different stand saw an honest thirteen different bucks and at
least ten different does in the same day. What makes that extraordinary
is that in New York it might take you four to six or more whole
hunting seasons to see the same numbers of bucks he saw in one day.
I also hunt Whitetail in Arkansas with a son who lives there. They
too have many large racked deer, but it still doesnt hold
a candle to what Ive seen in Saskatchewan for quantity, mass
and body size. Just amazing!
My special thanks to guide Troy
Mercier for making my Whitetail hunt live up to the Dream
Hunt title on the Deerassic Classic raffle ticket. I couldnt
be more pleased at the outcome. I guess you could say Ive
now caught the bug! Now Im obsessed with getting
an even bigger brute! Ill be back, and Ill be back at
the Deerassic Classic Giveaway in Ohio next August too.
If anyone contemplating using
your service wants to hear from someone else that was a first
timer, you are welcome to have him or her call me as a reference.

This will be my 4th hunt with
North Star . I have
hunted whitetail deer in Sask and black bear in Alberta and whitetail
and mule deer in Alberta as well . I hunt with a group of 6 hunters
from FLA. and we will be at North Star camp this fall for another
whitetail/ mule deer hunt and then driving from there to his camp
in Saskatchewan, for the last week of the season over there to finish
up our canadian hunting adventure. I've hunted with other
outfitters but non that go that extra mile to insure as quality
of a hunt as Neil and his staff due at North Star Outfitting. Thanks

"The stand locations were
prime all of the hunters in our group had plenty of deer activity
and we all harvested quality whitetails."
In November of 2005 I had an opportunity to hunt with North Star
Outfitting in Saskatchewan and share the following. Like most hunters
that have an opportunity to hunt in Canada my expectations for harvesting
a trophy deer were high, I entered into this hunt with tons of thoughts
swirling through my head. Almost from the time that our group entered
camp I felt very confident that we chose the right outfitter. The
head guide was a hunter and had knowledge about deer and deer hunting.
The staff greeted us like we were family, they showed us to our
cabin, told us to make ourselves at home and we did. The accommodations
were very comfortable and the food was great from our first meal
to the last. The hunting was even better. The stand locations were
prime all of the hunters in our group had plenty of deer activity
and we all harvested quality whitetails.
As hunters we all know there
are no guarantees when it comes to whitetails, it takes a lot of
effort and being lucky helps. Regardless of the outcome of my hunt
I feel that overall experience with North Star would have been worthwhile.
It was an absolute pleasure spending a week with them and I plan
on doing the same in 2006. If you have any questions about North
Star Outfitting in Saskatchewan feel free to give me a call at:

Attention Fellow Hunters:
My name is Steve Reichard and I have been fortunate to hunt all
over this great world. One place that in particular that stands
out in my opinion is North Star Outfitting in Alberta, Canada with
Neil Johnson; along with the great crew.
I have had the privilege of doing twenty four hunts with North Star
between bear, deer, goose and duck hunts. I have harvested whitetail
deer on all ten deer hunts accept for one, that particular hunt
I was just being picky. I was lucky enough to harvest a 200 class
mule deer this year and a great whitetail in 2004. In the spring
of 2004 I harvested one of the largest black bears I have even taken.
It was an honest 82. Over the many years I have hunted
with North Star Outfitting I have harvested 19 bears. Its
great because my hunting buddies have also been as fortunate as
myself. The food accommodations are five star, no questions asked.
All I can say is be prepared to gain weight over the week.
North Star also acquired a new camp in Saskatchewan, Canada. I spent
a week there in November of 2004 and seen numerous great deer.
If you are looking for a great hunt with first class hard workers
and respectful, honest people give North Star Outfitting a call
or myself.
GO HUNTING WHILE YOU ARE PHYSICALLY ABLE!
